SCOTT BROWN'S AMAZING 54 SECOND VIDEO REVIEW OF THE PURITAN HARD DRIVE (Pastor Scott Brown is the Director of the National Center for Family-Integrated Churches, NCFIC)
Jim Dodson Reviews and Recommends the Puritan Hard Drive
If you love the Bible, then you may well be Reformed. If you think of yourself as Reformed, but you have seldom or have never read older Reformed literature, prepare to be challenged. The Puritan Hard Drive provides primary sources and depth of theological and spiritual insight which is lacking in much of what is passed off as genuine Reformed theology. If you think of yourself as conservative, the older Puritan and Reformed authors will help you sort reality from myth in your quest to be truly Reformed. There are more solid resources for less money here than anywhere else. I highly recommend you take responsibility for your soul and spend a few shekels for this cup of cold water in the midst of the modern religious desert.
- Jim Dodson, Reformed Presbyterian Scholar, https://www.covenanter.org/
Dr. Joel Beeke Recommends the Puritan Hard Drive
"The Puritan Hard Drive is a massive collection of primary Puritan resources, dozens of which are very hard to find anywhere else in the world. Any lover of Puritan literature, which, more than any other body of literature ever written, powerfully expands our minds, convicts our consciences, allures our hearts, and moves our hands, will find a treasure trove here."
- Dr. Joel R. Beeke, President and Professor of Systematic Theology and Homiletics at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, Pastor, Author of many important Reformed books (including the must read, Meet the Puritans: With A Guide to Modern Reprints), Editorial Director at Reformation Heritage Books, etc.

PURITAN HARD DRIVE BACK UP SUGGESTIONS (AND COPYRIGHT CONSIDERATIONS)17. PURITAN HARD DRIVE MISSIONARY AND MINISTRY DONATION PROGRAM18. PURITAN HARD DRIVE MINISTRY OFFER TO THE POORSWRB's NEW PURITAN HARD DRIVE (PHD) is the most extensive and robust Reformation study tool ever created - thanks be to the Lord! It presently contains over one million dollars worth of classic and contemporary Puritan and Reformation books, MP3s and videos (in over 12,500 total Reformation resources on the PHD), a comprehensive custom search/research/interface program (you can't get this stunning piece of power-packed and feature-rich software anywhere else, as it was designed by one of the world's leading software engineers specifically and only for the SWRB Puritan Hard Drive!), and a powerful embedded database - all of which are updatable and upgradeable, so the Puritan Hard Drive can grow with you as you grow in the Lord in the future. This means, in the future, we will be able to provide you with updates to the embedded database (for free) and new products (books, MP3s and videos, some for free and some at a nominal fee like 99 cents per large book), which you may download and integrate with the PURITAN HARD DRIVE.What's more, the SWRB KnowledgeBase software gives you lightning fast access to any resources (even thousands at once) on the Puritan Hard Drive, taking just a second or two (and sometimes less) to produce long lists of linked search results, even when it is searching through the 71,000+ category references, the 5,000,000+ records related to Category Resource Signatures and the 10,000,000+ indexed keywords! In addition to the astonishing search speeds, these quick-find search results lists also contain reams of other useful data on each resource in the list, which is presented on-screen in a convenient tab system which keeps everything compact and easily accessible (see the videos above or the screenshots section below for a look at all you get in the various windows that are available).Furthermore, the Puritan Hard Drive has been built to integrate with our Web site (here at PuritanDownloads.com) so that everything we publish and, Lord willing, much that we distribute for other publishers, will also be available for download and integration with the Puritan Hard Drive. Those who already know our ministry at SWRB will know that many of the resources we publish in the future will be offered free of charge (as we always try to put out as much free material as we can) - and we will do our best to keep the price as low as possible on new Reformation resources we offer for sale (e.g., often charging just 99 cents for large books of over 500 pages, as we already do with most of the digital downloads we are already offering on this site). And even if you don't obtain new (future) downloadable publications (whether free or for sale), you will still be able to benefit from the wealth of data (book descriptions, categorization, Category Resource Signatures, extensive keyword lists, etc.) that you will be able to obtain and use at no charge in updated versions of the database which you may easily update on your Puritan Hard Drive. There is really no end to the possibilities of what can be done as the Puritan Hard Drive grows in the future. For example, we are already working on potential joint ventures which will allow us to add resources from other Reformed publishers, as digital downloads (available through this site), so that these newly added Reformation resources (DDs) can be fully integrated with the Puritan Hard Drive. This will make it possible for you to take ever greater advantage of the unrivalled and incomparable search and research software on the Puritan Hard Drive - with an even greater amount of options as to products you can add to the PHD, to expand your study and sanctificational horizons even further.Additionally, there are so many things you can already do with the Puritan Hard Drive (and the Lord has given us so much, in every way, in the Puritan Hard Drive), that it would be impossible to describe and explain it all without writing a series of books. However, rather than doing that, we have simplified and streamlined the information about the Puritan Hard Drive, on this page, by focusing on some of the major features and benefits you will receive if you decide to purchase the Puritan Hard Drive. We have done this by providing you with the table of contents above, with links to all the most important topics. By using the table of contents (and the links provided) you will be able to quickly and easily find and read whichever sections interest you the most about the Puritan Hard Drive. And if you want the "full scoop" on the Puritan Hard Drive you are certainly welcome to read the whole page below - as it contains not only a lot of detailed information about exactly what you get on the Puritan Hard Drive (and how this will benefit you as someone who loves the Lord and desires a closer walk with Him), but also a fascinating account of what the Ancient of days has done in history to bring an unmatched study tool like the Puritan Hard Drive into existence (for His glory and the blessing of all believers who use the Puritan Hard Drive)."Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?" (Exodus 15:11).2. THE PURITAN HARD DRIVE MAKES SOME OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN YOUR LIFE, AS A CHRISTIAN, EASIER, FASTER, BETTER AND MORE FRUITFUL (FOR THE GREATER DECLARATIVE GLORY OF GOD)!Can you imagine this scenario? In less time than it would take you to pull a book from the shelf (if you already have the right book), open it, and find just one written portion pertinent to your studies (if the book you've chosen even contains what you are looking for), you can have pulled the Puritan Hard Drive (PHD) from your pocket (wherever you need it: home; school; office; church; commuting; or anywhere else you have access to a PC or Mac computer), plug it into the USB port, and have already found hundreds of the best Puritan and Reformation resources that are perfectly relevant to just about any issue you want to study. It is even likely that you have already read, listened to, or watched some of the very best material presented to you for your Puritan Hard Drive studies (and even have saved them to your personal lists or favorites!)- even before you could find one small written portion concerning what you seek in just one printed book. Moreover, maybe you've even already pasted some portions into a sermon or Bible study you are preparing, or into an email or blog you are writing, or into a paper, lecture or book you are researching, or used your research for personal sanctification, or in preparations for family worship, or for hundreds of other uses - you know what each use would be for you.Furthermore, you may have even had time to add some personal notes to the resources you are reading or reviewing, as your own personal notes can be added, updated, changed and saved for each of the 12,500+ Puritan and Reformation resources on the Puritan Hard Drive. What's more, you may even specifically search through your own personal notes using the custom and proprietary SWRB KnowledgeBase software that comes with every Puritan Hard Drive (and includes free lifetime database updates!). How cool is all that - as the younger generation would say?Or consider this question: What would your life be like without electricity and running water? The way you answer this question will provide you with a good example about the vast difference in both quality and quantity of study, and learning about God, which is possible when we compare using the Puritan Hard Drive (with theological "elect-ricity and running water") with using a limited library of printed volumes (which is the theological equivalent of living like you have "no electricity and no running water" in this example). The difference between these two scenarios illustrates just how far advanced the Puritan Hard Drive is over every other method of study and learning that is available to Christians today. In short, the Puritan Hard Drive will turbo-charge all forms of Christian study and research for you, not only allowing you to accomplish much more in significantly less time, but also providing you with virtually instant access to over 12,500 Reformation and Puritan book, MP3 and video options, containing the very best in classic and contemporary Christian (Puritan and Reformation) scholarship (thinking), on almost every issue of Christian concern, with just a click or two of your mouse. Not to mention there are thousands more Puritan and Reformation resources coming through SWRB in the future (D.V.), which will be downloadable and fully integrated with the Puritan Hard Drive. If you love the Lord, you, your family and your church can greatly (and eternally) benefit from the Puritan Hard Drive - as it is one of the Lord's greatest gifts to our generation for "redeeming the time" (Eph. 5:16), for "the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2) and for helping you to "grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18), that you may fully and faithfully "press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 3:14).3. SUMMARY AND OVERVIEW OF SWRB'S NEW PURITAN HARD DRIVE (Rocket Fuel for Your Mind, Spirit and Christian Growth!)The new SWRB Puritan Hard Drive is the culmination of over 25 years of research and product development at Still Waters Revival Books. Our main goal during this time has been to glorify God, be a blessing to our brothers and sisters in Christ all over the world, and to publish and distribute books, MP3s and videos (free and at great discounts) that would be used of God to point people to the Lord Jesus Christ, "for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).The Puritan Hard Drive combines all the best Puritan and Reformation books, MP3s and videos we have been able to gather for publication in over a quarter century - over 12,500 of these Reformation resources (worth over $1,000,000 if purchased separately and in their original formats). It also contains the most powerful and useful Bible study software and database that has ever been created - all thanks and glory be to the Lord!Furthermore, because of the hard drive format, the custom and proprietary SWRB KnowledgeBase software and the embedded database (which already contains over 15,000,000 records, more on how this benefits you below) can be upgraded and updated over the Web, as we add new features and new products in the future. You also get a minimum of a 250GB portable USB hard drive, which contains about 92GB of Puritan and Reformation resources (in the Windows partition, 98GB in the Mac partition) and about 42GB of free space across both partitions. The free space can be used for whatever you desire, so purchasing the Puritan Hard Drive is like getting a 42GB hard drive as a free bonus. Moreover, when you purchase the Puritan Hard Drive you automatically get free lifetime upgrades to the unparalleled SWRB KnowledgeBase software and free updates to the extensive embedded database. We also provide you with a 100% iron-clad guarantee that the Puritan Hard Drive is in technically perfect working order, when you receive it, as well as providing you with a life-time guarantee on the Puritan Hard Drive (see full details below)! If you want the very best Bible study tool that has ever been available, one that will grow with you as you grow in the Lord over the rest of your life, you have no risk when you purchase the Puritan Hard Drive - as we fully guarantee you will receive the Puritan Hard Drive as it is described in great detail on this Web page. This is rocket fuel for your mind and spirit!"... but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits" (Daniel 11:32b).Please keep in mind that no matter how well we communicate all the features on the Puritan Hard Drive, or try to explain the many benefits and blessings you will receive from the Lord (as He chooses to bestow them upon you) through using the Puritan Hard Drive, the ultimate way to really appreciate this gift from the Lord to our generation, is to use it for yourself. The Puritan Hard Drive is really "out of this world" good and can, by God's grace, help you to go from being "an ordinary Christian to being an extraordinary one," (as the author and scholar of 16th and 17th century Calvinistic literature, Dr. Jonathan D. Moore, of Cambridge University, commented)! Moreover, the Puritan Hard Drive can greatly increase your knowledge of the Lord and His truth (by God's grace) in much less time than any other study method or tool of which we are aware. In fact, having personally used the KnowledgeBase (search and research) program on the Puritan Hard Drive in conjunction with the 12,500+ Reformation resources on the Puritan Hard Drive, at different stages of our testing, I think everyone who uses it will find that the Puritan Hard Drive is much more than expected (and certainly much more than we are able to convey through written words and videos) - as you really have to use it for yourself to know and fully experience just what a remarkable study tool the Lord has placed in our hands."Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" (Psalm 107:31).B. A Comprehensive Puritan and Reformation Treasure Trove That Is Portable, User Friendly and Exceedingly PowerfulThe Puritan Hard Drive is a comprehensive Puritan and Reformation treasure trove that is easy-to-use, portable, and expandable. Just plug it into the USB port on any PC or Mac (it doesn't even need a power cord, as it is powered through the USB cable) and you are ready to start experiencing the very best of classic and contemporary Christian (Puritan and Reformation) literature, MP3s and videos. You can even carry this fantastic library around in your pocket or purse, as the Puritan Hard Drive is not much bigger than a cassette tape. The graphics below gives you an idea of just how small (and it is light too) the Puritan Hard Drive really is - not much bigger than a cassette tape.
Imagine having access to the world's best Reformation library, and the most powerful Bible study software, including all your own personal notes on the searchable Puritan Hard Drive database, anywhere you have access to a PC or Mac computer with a USB port - as that is exactly what the Puritan Hard Drive gives you!"O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth" (Isaiah 25:1).C. A World-Class Software Developer For World-Class Bible Study Software (On The Puritan Hard Drive)The spectacular, custom, search and research software the Puritan Hard Drive contains has been developed by one of the world's top software architects, who was once offered $US4,000,000.00 for a single program he had written for a Global Fortune 100 company. His resume is "storied," as he has held high level consulting positions for some of the world's largest companies, given his wide-ranging knowledge related to complex areas of international technological expertise and his vast experience as a global leader in the field of software engineering.I won't go into a lot of the detail here, just enough to give you an idea of why we think the software on the Puritan Hard Drive is the best Bible study software ever written, but I will let you know that he was also once paid $US1,200,000.00 for writing one application for the global giant where he was responsible for the design and implementation of a Web-based intranet (application) to provide a single point of initiation for all business conducted by this conglomerate's 165 companies worldwide, with a user-base of 65,000 employees in 60 countries. The Lord also providentially placed him in touch with SWRB at just the right time, right as we were looking for someone to produce a program that would allow you to take quantum leaps forward in the realm of spiritually renewing you mind through Bible study, Christian knowledge and Holy Spirit lead sanctification (Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:23). In fact, the timing was singularly remarkable, as we had just begun planning to produce an enhanced study platform which would place in your hands tools that would give you the ability (by God's grace) to make dramatic advances in sanctification (2 Peter 3:18) and in your knowledge of the Most High (Psalm 92:8)."And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear"(Isaiah 65:24).Thankfully, and by the sovereign grace of God, this brother in the Lord loves The Truth (i.e., the Lord Jesus Christ [John 14:6], as He has revealed Himself in the Bible) and wants to use his superlative software skills and decades of software development experience to serve the Lord - and to build something that will be of eternal value to you, your spouse (if you are married), your children (if you have them) and your church, for many generations to come. And he has done that and engineered much more in the stunningly functional and elegantly multi-purpose Puritan Hard Drive search and research (KnowledgeBase) software.Knowing these things, it doesn't take a genius to imagine how good the software on the Puritan Hard Drive is when you are getting the full benefit, brilliance and artistry of this programming genius' 30+ years of software engineering experience among some of the world's largest companies, nations and militaries (he even had secret clearance with NATO at one time). You don't have to be a genius to recognize the great value of the Puritan Hard Drive!
Moving on now, from a touch of humor (in the graphic and caption above) to the truly sublime...D. The Most Profound, Inspirational and Sublime Thoughts of God and His Word (The Bible) This World Has Ever Known... Outside of the Bible ItselfThe software on the Puritan Hard Drive is as user friendly and intuitively designed as any software we have ever seen - just what you would expect from a world-class software engineer. Because of its superior design, even a computer novice can make great use of the Puritan Hard Drive. But don't let the ease-of-use fool you, as the software on the Puritan Hard Drive contains features that will blow the socks off even the most vigorous power-user who is studying the Scripture at the very highest levels possible. The Puritan Hard Drive can easily and instantly (in less than one second) provide you with myriads of the most profound, inspirational and sublime thoughts of God and His Word (the Bible) this world has ever known (outside of the Bible itself) - as such thoughts were a specialty of the Puritans and Reformers. In fact, the Puritan Hard Drive was designed for this very purpose, that you might be "transformed by the renewing of your mind," and "that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" (Romans 12:2).Mind you, a number of the best Reformation Bibles are also on the Puritan Hard Drive, so you can read the translations (and the original Reformers' notes) that God used to shake the nations during both the First and Second Reformations - and it doesn't get much more magnificent and heavenly than that in this world (though much more so in the world to come)!Never before has a Christian study tool existed which contained so many rare and classic Puritan and Reformation works combined with state-of-the-art, world-class, custom software designed specifically to give you unprecedented and unsurpassed access to the thoughts of the world's greatest Christian minds. Never before has such a great opportunity existed for Christian growth through a single (Puritan and Reformed) study enhancement and learning tool. Powerful Christian study tools like the Puritan Hard Drive present uncommon (some would even say "once-in-a-lifetime") opportunities for outstanding Christian growth - and there is no better time than right now to begin "redeeming the time" and further "understanding what the will of the Lord is" (Ephesians 5:16-17) through all the great Reformation resources on the Puritan Hard Drive. Scripture often exhorts us to make the most of our time (for God's glory) and I know of no better study tool than the Puritan Hard Drive to "redeem the time."What is your time worth to you?Would a study tool that can bring you closer to the Lord and save you tons of time (over the years) be worth investing in?What if this same study tool could help you to be a blessing to everyone you come into contact with - especially your own family?Would it be worth the investment then?"Redeeming the time, because the days are evil" (Ephesians 5:16).E. Virtually Instant Access To The Teachings And Minds Of The Best Pastors And Teachers In The History Of The ChurchOver the last 25 years we have poured our hearts, minds, and prayers into producing the Puritan Hard Drive, constantly asking God to bless this work, that we might (declaratively) glorify Him and so that you might know "the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 2:7), "in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Colossians 2:3).The Lord has given faithful pastors and teachers to His church in every age (Ephesians 4:11). Now, through the Puritan Hard Drive you can benefit, as never before, as some of the most advanced technologies of our day are used to help you faithfully serve the Lord, by allowing you virtually instant access to the teachings and minds of the best pastors and teachers in the history of the church - in a convenient, portable and accessible format. Many of the teachers and pastors on the Puritan Hard Drive suffered greatly for "for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude 1:3). Some were tortured and others were even martyred because of their great love for the Lord Jesus Christ (Hebrews 11:35-38).Do you have the "martyrs' faith" in the Lord?Do you love the Lord the way they did?Are you willing to sacrifice everything, even your life to remain faithful to the Lord? The answers to these questions help demonstrate that we all have much to learn from the faithful examples, lives and teachings of many of the Covenanters, Puritans, and Reformers whose writings and sermons are found on the Puritan Hard Drive. It is an act of God's grace that He not only preserved these faithful writings and testimonies for our encouragement, but He has now ordained that they be easier to access, order, analyze and use than ever before. The authors and preachers on the Puritan Hard Drive were made strong in the Lord and often did exploits in His name (Daniel 11:32), through faith they subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens (Hebrews 11:33-34) - and you have every godly reason to learn from them (as they followed Christ, 1 Corinthians 11:1) to do the same!As with the stedfast and devoted (to the Lord) Puritan preachers, Covenanter teachers and Reformation martyrs before you, you may use the resources on the Puritan Hard Drive (through the power of God's grace and the Holy Spirit) to renew your strength, to mount up with wings as eagles, to run and not be weary, to walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31), to put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:22-24)."And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" (Romans 12:2).God has ordained that the most astonishing and remarkable Christian (Puritan and Reformed) search and research study tool would come into existence in our day (through some of the most improbable means). Please take advantage of what our Lord has done and lay hold of the Puritan Hard Drive to bring, by God's mercy and grace, untold blessing into your life, into the life of your family, into the life of your church, and Lord willing, into the life of your nation - "for we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10).F. The Puritan Hard Drive Is Really A Miracle Of God's Grace, Mercy, Love And Sovereignty - A "Millennial-Like" Gift Providentially Provided To Our Generation, Through the Majesty of the Most HighThe following customer comment about Still Waters Revival Books, from a brother in the Lord in Houston (Texas), probably best epitomizes what we all have in the Puritan Hard Drive, as the Puritan Hard Drive is really a miracle of God's grace, mercy, love and sovereignty - a "millennial-like" gift providentially provided from the Most High. When I look up at the stars in the night sky my mind is boggled at God's creation. When I see your work at SWRB I likewise marvel at God's grace. I cannot get my mind around it any more than looking at the night sky. I am awestruck at the books you provide for the world. Baffling. Imagine: big Christian publishers/ministries loaded with bags of money/staff didn't have the vision to even consider such a project. All these old books have been fading away as the years roll bye, lost in basements of rare book collections, discarded at estate sales. The church's riches lost. The labors of God's writers accompanied with no little blood, sweat and tears buried in the dustbins of history. But God showed mercy to his people in the 21st century in the nick of time before the riches of these books were lost. He took hold of small people - you, sir and the small group you are with in an obscure place - and showed the world the Lord can do, and does do, great works of mercy without the big money-laden organizations. May the Lord grant you the grace to complete the good work He has appointed you for. And may the Lord stir up his people to give SWRB a financial helping-hand.In short, the Puritan Hard Drive is a fascinating story of God's love, grace and mercy (to all of us who will benefit from it), as the Lord answered countless prayers to bring this phenomenal study tool into existence. These answered prayers include not only everything God predestined (Ephesians 1:11, Daniel 4:35), whether large or small, which has transpired in the last few decades to make an astonishing and revolutionary Christian study tool like the Puritan Hard Drive possible, but all He did providentially throughout history to have all these amazing, extraordinary and momentous Puritan and Reformed resources produced and preserved right up to our day!In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will (Ephesians 1:1).In our generation, the Puritan Hard Drive is also a labor of love (to the Lord), which was over 25 years in the making. It contains over 12,500 classic (and antiquarian) books and sermons by many of the best authors of both the First and Second Reformations, with a strong emphasis on the most prominent and faithful Reformers - and we believe it is books like this which bring much declarative glory to our Lord. Some of the these exceptional volumes still sell for thousands of dollars each on the rare book market and some can't even be purchased they are so hard to find. We were only able to obtain some of these scarce and singular Christian treasures (some which may have been the last one or two copies left in the world), in more than a quarter of a century of searching, from private antiquarian book collections and some of the rarest of rare book libraries. Moreover, to my knowledge, SWRB was the only ministry/company ever allowed into one of the most astonishing of these rare book collections, to obtain books for digitization (and your blessing). This is more evidence of the Lord's goodness, grace and providential oversight of the Puritan Hard Drive project, for which we are exceedingly thankful!.One set of eight volumes on the Puritan Hard Drive cost $US28,000.00 to obtain for digitization (and I've seen this set for sale for as much as $US72,000.00). All total there are millions of dollars worth of resources on the Puritan Hard Drive and you can now benefit from all these years of research, labor and expenditures (under the guidance of the Lord) for just a small fraction of that cost - more reasons to thank God for answered prayers, the latest and best technologies, and the privilege of hard work in His cause!"I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old" (Psalm 77:11).Millions of dollars and countless hours of labor have also been needed (and expended) over the last quarter century of research and development which led to the production of the Puritan Hard Drive. We thank God for this privilege, to be of service to Him and to you - and once you have had the incredible experience of using the Puritan Hard Drive for yourself we think that you will agree with us that the Lord has granted all Puritan Hard Drive users the opportunity to study Him and his Word (the Holy Bible), through a Christian (Calvinist) study tool of unprecedented and unsurpassed usefulness, in ways that have never before been available at any point (prior to today) in history.Buy the Puritan Hard Drive today and know new, even un-imagined, levels of true spiritual prosperity and victory - as your communion with the Lord Jesus Christ, by His free grace alone, soars to new heights (Isaiah 40:31) through the powerful, faithful and biblical teaching on the Puritan Hard Drive! Much like what took place during prior Reformations (especially the Second Reformation), when God chose to pour out His Spirit in much greater abundance, as He raised up teachers and preachers of uncommon caliber and dedication. These are the best books to read and the Lord has provided them in large numbers on the Puritan Hard Drive.Additionally, among the treasure trove of Reformed resources (books, MP3s and videos) on the Puritan Hard Drive, from the best ministers of both the First and Second Reformations, you will also find many of the best Christian works from each century after the Second Reformation - right up to the very finest Christian books, MP3s and videos from some of the foremost Reformed authors and preachers of our day. Some resources from prior to the First Reformation are also included.H. 7. COMMENDATORY CUSTOMER COMMENTS AND GLOWING ACCOLADES IN REVIEWS OF SWRB'S PREVIOUS DIGITAL OFFERINGS - WITH A SUMMARY OF WHY THE PURITAN HARD DRIVE IS FAR SUPERIOR TO ALL PREVIOUS SWRB RELEASESThe reasons why the Puritan Hard Drive (PHD) is so far superior to our previously offered 62 CDs (the Reformation Bookshelf and Puritan Bookshelf CD sets) are many - far too many to list in this section (especially since you may read about these reasons throughout this Web page, above and below). However, in summary, some of the main reasons for the Puritan Hard Drive's great superiority over our previously offered 62 CDs include:
- Over 10,500 more Reformation resources (books, MP3s and videos) than the 62 CDs, for a total of over 12,500 Puritan and Reformation resources in all - with many more books, MP3s and videos to come, which can be added, as digital downloads, to the Puritan Hard Drive as you choose!
- Many of the books on the Puritan Hard Drive are now searchable and you can copy and paste from them too (which was not the case with most of the books on the CDs).
- The Puritan Hard Drive has an extensive embedded database (holding over 15,000,000 total records), to which you may add personal notes (which become searchable if saved) and to which you may add new future SWRB publications (whereas the CDs had only very simple and rudimentary PDF indices and you could not add new publications to that collection).
- We've even added unique and proprietary embedded and appended indices to many of the books on the Puritan Hard Drive, to further aid you in your studies (nothing like this existed in the books on the CDs).
- And, probably best of all, the Puritan Hard Drive comes with the most advanced and powerful custom Christian (Reformation and Puritan) search and research software ever created (the CDs had nothing similar to this, nor does any other Christian product of which we are aware).
The Puritan Hard Drive is, as God has ordained, a technological revolution in the study of classic and contemporary Puritan and Reformation resources (books, MP3s and videos) - and is probably a hundred (if not a thousand) times more effective Christian study platform or tool than our discontinued CDs.Nevertheless, we are sure that you will notice, in spite of the great superiority of the new Puritan Hard Drive over our older 62 CDs, that our previously offered 62 SWRB CDs were an excellent product, as Dr. R.C. Sproul noted when he wrote, "I am overwhelmed... the (SWRB) CD series look priceless, and you have done a great service for the kingdom through this ministry" and as all the other reviewers in the scrolling window below further attest. It is important that we also note, before you read the comments below, that it was only by our Lord's sovereign grace that we had the privilege of producing the Puritan and Reformation CDs and that all the glory for any good that came (or comes) from them is due fully (and only) to the Lord - for without the Lord Jesus Christ we can do nothing (John 15:5) and our chief end at SWRB is to glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31, Exodus 20:3)!In the scrolling window below you will find a number of selected comments about our CD sets. As you read these words from users of our previously offered CD sets, please keep in mind that the new SWRB Puritan Hard Drive (which works on both PCs and Macs) is light years ahead of the SWRB CDs that received all these glowing accolades. Thanks!"Thank you so very much for the CDs.
I am amazed at the quality and quantity of the literature...
I cannot imagine any other single thing being done by any man or group of men in the earth today that is of such extensive, present, and enduring value as this CD work is.
God be praised that he uses sickly and weak men to forward his kingdom, that the work may not be mistaken to be wrought by the might of men, but by his Spirit. His strength is perfected in weakness." - Dr. B, (Engineer) Colorado, USA
"You all are doing a wonderful service by making all these materials so readily available. Having them on my hard drive is BETTER than having access to a rare book library with all of them in hand... I have found the CD set invaluable as a tool of scholarship. So once again I commend you brothers for making it available."
"Grace and peace to you in Christ. I just opened my set of... CDs and am quite impressed. It's a great collection... Blessings on you and your fellows for this wonderful service to the Church of Christ."
And later:
"By the way, thanks again for producing the set. It came in handy today when, reading Honeyman, I found him citing Ames's work on conscience and was able to go directly to the source and check the accuracy of Honeyman's use."
And also:
"Grace and peace to you in Christ, Brother. I just wanted to send you another note of thanks for the wonderful service SWRB has done in providing these CD series. From time to time in reading sources for my dissertation, I have come across references to the "Dutch Annotators" or the "English Annotators" (which are titled the "Westminster Annotations" on the Puritan Bookshelf CD set - ed.)... I thought to myself..., "I wonder if they're in the PBCD collection?" So I went to the index and searched, and, voila! So... I could actually cross-check the references to them to ensure that authors were properly citing them. Once again, I have found the PBCD set invaluable as a tool of scholarship. So once again I commend you brothers for making it available." - Dr. E. Calvin Beisner, Knox Theological Seminary, Author of a number of books and Associate Professor of Historical Theology and Social Ethics
N.B. Though the Puritan Bookshelf CD set is no longer available, the Puritan Hard Drive includes the third edition of "Westminster Annotations," which is superior to the first edition mentioned above. - Ed.
"I just received your CD collection. One bit of advice: you should instruct your customers to take about 1 week off just to peruse the tables of contents for these CD's, followed by another week off, in order to recover from the state of shock in which they will find themselves.
In all seriousness, this collection is almost impossible to describe. It has to be seen to be believed. As a pastor, my library has just increased dramatically. As a Ph.D. student in Puritan and Post-Reformation studies, I have immediate access to many of the same works for which I would normally need to access through rare book rooms of theological libraries.
Thank you for this labor of love. Thank you for making it accessible, both financially and technologically. May the Lord richly bless you for this service to his people." - Yours for the faith, Pastor David Owen Filson Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church (PCA), Nashville, TN
"I am so Illuminated by what you have sent that I just feel like I must have the other 30 (Reformation) CD set. You gave me the 32 (Puritan) CDs at a discount that is just not heard of - thanks for you kindness.
These Puritan resources are the greatest I've ever seen. These eyes have never seen anything greater than what you have produced except that old King James Bible.
I am sure that it will help me and others grow in the Lord and I can use it in my Home School for my children. " - Email from a Customer in Georgia, USA
"The SWRB CDs ... have been an incredible source of spiritual delight and theological pleasure. They were also an incomparable help in researching and writing my countless M.Div. papers. My professors were always amazed at the rare book quotations and relative obscurity of my sources. I still feel that I have barely scratched the surface of what these books have to offer." - Pastor Andrew Underhile, Missionary in the Philippines
"It's been several weeks now since I received the CDs and have had some time to digest some of them. All I can say is, "WOW!" This is truly a library like no other, and has already paid great dividends not only in my own personal worship and study, but in my teaching as well. I first balked at the price, but after seeing the vastness of the material, I almost feel as though I'm robbing you!
I pray that the Lord will allow you to get these materials into the hands of as many ministers as possible."" - Email from SC, USA
"The amount of great material here is absolutely staggering. Thanks for all your hard work in making this available to us." - Dr. David Gamble (USA)
"The purchase of (SWRB's) CD's is proving to be one of the wisest investments that I have ever made. They are much more than I expected!! I am having a wonderful time reading and studying." - TC, Internet Customer (USA).
"I was excited to see the CD series advertised in the latest e-mail from SWRB.
I am fairly new to the Puritan works but have tried over the past several years to purchase as many titles as I could afford from Banner of Truth, SDG, and various other sources. I have found the Puritan writings to be of immense benefit to my soul over the past years. In the spiritual desolation of the academic environment the writings of these men have been used of God to encourage and challenge my faith...
If I am not mistaken, a project of this magnitude would undoubtedly result in one of the largest collections of Puritan writings available anywhere.
I greatly rejoice to think that such a collection would be made available and I hope to own and profit from it myself...
May the Lord bless you as you continue this vital ministry."
In Christ our Lord,

"Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
I cannot express the depth of my gratitude to you and your staff for the massive work you have done on the Reformation... Bookshelf series. Your compilation - in addition to tripling the total size of my personal library - has already encouraged me greatly in the development of the habit of family worship in my home. For this, I owe you more than I can say.
I have begun enjoying some of your resources on worship and the Regulative Principle...
Like you, I love and believe in the Regulative Principle of Worship. Like you, I want to please God and do what He commands. Like you, I am very suspicious of any 'new discovery' that anyone purports to find in Scripture that allegedly has gone unnoticed for hundreds or thousands of years. Like you, seeing the state of the church today, I find it rather laughable to think that 'we know better' than our Reformation forbears.
Also like you, I believe that the Second Commandment and other passages make clear that our worship, both public and private, is to be conducted only according to the explicit commands of the Word of God. Like you, I believe that this means that what is not commanded by Scripture is forbidden in worship (Calvinist Regulativism as opposed to Lutheran Normativism). Like you, I believe that the Psalter is the foundation and superstructure of all true piety, and that it is not to be abridged in any way, but that the whole Psalter (including the imprecatory psalms) is appropriate for singing in worship.
We are required to sing Psalms in the worship of God...
Your contribution to Christ's Church is of inestimable value, and I am sharing your materials with every serious Christian I can find. My Pastor was ecstatic to receive his copy, and the work has been made available to the entire church. One of our elders is in seminary, and he is joyfully devouring your work as we speak! Thank you so much! May the Lord bless you out of Zion!" - Neil Barham (USA)
"I can't believe how great your new CD collection is! ...I really think that this will be a great benefit for scholarship in Puritan and Scottish theology, and I hope that this catches on... Thank you so much for putting out such great stuff at affordable prices!" - Web Customer (UK)
"I appreciate the work that you are doing at SWRB. The availability of old ministry on the CDs is truly remarkable and at such good prices. I have been blessed in my own reading and also sermon preparation help... Keep up the good work, it is truly appreciated and I am sure people like myself are being helped and you will never know the blessing your ministry is until you get home to glory." -Your Brother in Christ, AMT (Email for a Baptist Brother in Ontario, Canada)
"I just received the CD's in the mail to day. I am overwhelmed! It was Dr. Richard A. Muller at Calvin Theological Seminary who first pointed out your website for access to documents that would otherwise be unavailable or unattainable. I am looking forward to reading the material by Beza and Twisse!" - Email from Richard Chelvan, USA.
"So many great resources at such a great price! Thanks for your efforts to compile and supply these reformed treasures to the public. May they serve many generations to follow." - Email (USA)
"I received the CD's today, what an unbelievable resource... I am just overwhelmed at the moment. It is a GREAT resource for us Calvinists. It is amazing!" - Email from Dr. Kenny Rhodes (CA, USA), An Answer School of Theology
"The CD set has arrived, much to my great delight. I can't thank you enough for this treasure. Both sets together are the crown jewel of my library, and will be of inestimable value in my study, preaching, teaching and counseling." - Email from a M.Div student in Texas
"I have been intending to write to you for several weeks now but the latest SWRB sale mailing has prompted me to do it today. I just wanted to express my thanks to you & all at SWRB for the great ministry you perform in supplying Puritan books. I have made several purchases from you over the past 2 years and I think each of the books has blessed and/or challenged me.
Most notably have been The Christian Soldier by Watson and the one I am reading at the moment, Wells of Salvation Opened (Spurstowe). In reading this latter book I have been so blessed & stirred; who said puritans were cold, stiff & starchy?
In reading this mornings mailing I noticed that you also do the Reformation Bookshelf CD's so I went to your web site to see what was out - I was in ecstasy!!!
I hope in the near future to start purchasing these...
Once again, thanks for providing a great service & for refreshing the saints in so many ways!! - Missionary working in Hatyai, Southern Thailand
"By the way, the Reformation bookshelf CD's have arrived and are proving to be an invaluable resource. They will certainly save me a large amount of international travel and accommodation expenses going in search of library copies of the original volumes!" - From Australia
"I have just received the 30 CD set of Reformation Bookshelf today... I am overwhelmed with their sheer volume! What can I say when suddenly confronted with them? I was humbled as I began to put the CDs on my computer, what little I knew, what little I had read of these copious writings of our great Reformation heritage!" - Jim in the UK
"This side of eternity I'll never be able to repay the favor you have done mankind by bringing these CDs together.
The first week of reading I grew more as a Christian reading those rich, pure Gospel Commentators than I have in 18 years of Christian life. After reading some of the Puritan CDs I have to get the Reformation set if it kills me. A fire is burning within me. These... CDs are liable to start a revival fire unseen in any generation... the Gospel in its pure form is seen in these... CDs.
Sir, I cant say enough. What a treasure! I'll never be able to repay you this side of heaven, but when we get there I am sure you will see the rich fruits of your labor. God bless you for not being money hungry but wanting to see Christians grow in the Lord... I love you even though we have never met, you have helped me in my Christian walk tremendously with these... CDs.
I am not bragging on the flesh, I am just giving honor where honor is due. The Holy Ghost will take these CDs and light a fire unseen and unheard of. God bless you all at Still Waters." - Email from a former Satanist (USA)
I'm so grateful for the work you are doing making this material available to so many which would almost be impossible to collect any where else. May the Lord bless you and all there as you work for a new reformation. - R.C. (Email USA)
"I cannot possibly say enough good things about those CD's. Finding your website was a real blessing. I was actually trying to look up something else, but your page came up instead. I know that was no coincidence! I felt like I had stumbled upon some lost El Dorado.
Allow me to share a short testimony with you. After spending nine years on the mission field here in the Philippines, I returned for a few years to the States to get some things sorted out. During that time I worked at a Christian bookstore owned by an elderly Presbyterian couple. The whole time I was there I had a Geneva Bible on order, but the distributor was always out of stock (my suspicion is that they never really stocked them to begin with.) (they are two edition of the Geneva Bible on the Puritan Hard Drive - ed.) I was also on the look out for a Wycliffe Bible, too (the Wycliffe New Testament is part of the English Hexapla Bible, which is also on the Puritan Hard Drive - ed.). Now here I am years later, assuming that I would never see either one, when, lo and behold, the Lord led me to your website! The Lord answered the desire of my heart after I had even given up hope of ever seeing them.
Let me reiterate how blessed I am by Thomas Manton's sermons. I had seen his 3 volume set on Psalm 119 published by Banner of Truth, but I never had the money to purchase them whenever I happened to see them at the store. Again, through God's sovereignty, I now possess 22 volumes of this saintly man's works (Manton's 22 volume set is also on the Puritan Hard Drive - ed.)!... Wow! The MP3s of John Owen's "Chamber of Imagery," (these MP3s are called Rome's Idolatry Rebuked on the Puritan Hard Drive - ed.) is by far the most insightful treatment I have ever encountered of the subject of, and historical process of Romish idolatry.
Thank you also for putting out Richard Bennett's material (Richard Bennett in a former Roman Catholic priest who is now a Calvinist and many of his works are also on the Puritan Hard Drive - ed.). His type of ministry is sorely needed in the Philippines. I have gotten in touch with him and we have struck up a friendly fellowship via email. I am currently trying to contact a publisher for a Philippine version of his book of testimonies by former Catholic priests (Far From Rome, Near To God:Testimonies of Fifty Converted Roman Catholic Priests - ed.). I would appreciate your prayers in this matter. I'm sure he would, too. Richard, in turn, has turned me on to William Webster's work.
The blessing just keep coming.
May God prosper your work until the day we all meet in glory!"
- Because of Jesus,
AndyI have recently purchased (one of) your CDs. I have already had occasion to use it and have found it well-constructed and easy to navigate. Many thanks for your excellent work in putting this series together! - N.B., Internet Customer.
I just received the day before yesterday the CD's you sent me. I have been busy exploring the material. I can only say that I am dumbfounded at the wealth of literature that is on these CD's. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all the books are scanned images of the originals, so that I feel as if I own actual copies of the old books!
A year or so ago a friend sent me a copy of the Christian Classics Ethereal Library CD-ROM. All of the books on that CD are in HTML format and have been reformatted so that they appear no different from any other printed material. But your books, besides having less chaff, give the reader that feeling one only gets from actually handling those quaint old books.
I have only glanced through the material, but I have already been immeasurably blessed by Thomas Manton's sermons on Hebrews 11. In my own personal study, I am currently working through 1 Corinthians. I am anxious to get into the commentaries on the Puritan CD set.
Again, I want to thank you for your generosity. Only the Lord can repay you for the service you have done to me, and what you have done for the body of Christ over the last 18+ years. May He repay you a hundred-fold!
- In Jesus, Andy Underhile (Missionary in the Philippines)
"Preparing for Sunday morning's message, on Galatians 2:20 (preaching through Galatians), I couldn't 'define' in suitable and understandable language the concept of 'living by faith,' John Trapp, who I didn't have in a book form, but now have in CD (thanks to your generous offer), was the 'counsel' of the day! No wonder Spurgeon says of him, 'Trapp is my especial companion and treasure; I can read him when I am too weary for anything else. Trapp is salt, pepper, mustard, vinegar, and all the other condiments. Put him on the table when you study, and when you have your dish ready, use him by way of spicing up the whole thing. Yes, gentlemen, read Trapp certainly, and if you catch the effect of his consecrated humour, so much the better for your hearers.'" - Email (USA)
"I see what an awesome job you guys have done in putting together those CDs
They are just great.
I read Toplady and found the quote you mentioned about the Jesuits planting the poison of free will. That was eye opening!
I read part of Christopher Ness (An Antidote Against Arminianism - ed.) and then began John Owen's Display of Arminianism. Once again I do so thank you." - Email from OK, USA (the specific resources mentioned were on Reformation Bookshelf CD 19, "Against Arminian Views of Salvation [Calvinistic Soteriology], Against Arminian Views of Worship [Calvinistic Worship and the Regulative Principle of Worship], etc." and are all included on the Puritan Hard Drive - ed.).
"Just a quick note... re: the CD's. I've... already used them a substantial amount. The ability to browse through them quickly... is remarkable and extremely valuable. For instance, I was able to look up several places re: Romans 1 (a la the Clark controversy...) and then just print out those sections. Because of their great value I'm recommending them to a friend... who's headed for the pastorate.... Here's what I wrote him:
'The other reason I'm writing is to encourage you to pick up a set of the... CD's from Still Waters. You said that you were 'in ecstasy' now that you're reading the Puritans, and if you get these, brother, you may have to seek medical attention for hyperstimulation. :) Really, they're simply incredible... The whole set offers a whopping 263,000 pages of material! ... (It has also--ed.) been indexed and hyperlinked so that you can quickly browse and navigate via the index in the left side column (for example, if you wanted to look up Romans 1 in various commentaries, rather than having to scroll through the text you just click on the hyperlink for chapter one in the sidebar, and it will take you immediately to that portion of the work).
It's an amazing collection of works, such that for about $0.33 per average book one can have a library that excels virtually any other in the history of the world, both for quality of volumes and for rapid ease of use.
Anyway, I wanted to be sure to point this out to you now that I've got my own set and have been using them.'" - Dr. B. (Cardiologist, USA)
"Many thanks for... this superb product." - Email from the UK
"These CDs are wonderful. Praise God." - Email to SWRB from the USA.
Still Waters:
I just wanted to write and thank you for your faithfulness to God's word and the Protestant Reformation.
Me and a friend of mine left (a church - ed.) about 5 years ago due to various heresies being accepted by the Session of our church and Presbytery at that time. We then started our own church with about 6 faithful members.
Five years later we still only have 10 members, but we have been blessed beyond measure.
We owe this in no small part to your ministry. The main foundation for our preaching has been the Puritan and Reformation CD's my friend ordered from you several years ago. Through them we've been freed from many Popish devices like instrumental music and acknowledging unbiblical seasons like Christmas, Easter, and numerous other idolatrous practices.
We also have profound insights into the Word of God which pretty much trump any modern commentators that we've ever read.
I know from experience that the things you guys publish are hated and unpopular. I'm sure that you also wonder sometimes if anyone is really even paying any attention. I would like to assure you that your efforts have blessed our small congregation immeasurably and that you're labor has not been in vain.
I hate to think where we still might be if we did not have access to the many documents made available by Still Waters.
Please never lose heart and keep up the good work.
God bless.

"I just watched what the contents will be of the new Reformation CDs and I hope to buy them all when they are available... I want to thank you for making these precious works available and being able to spread to other people... Just wanted to let you know how much I am looking forward to these CDs! Greetings in Christ Jesus and always praying for you ministry."
And also:
"I want to thank you to make those new works available which are going to be produced on these new reformation cd-roms. I am very thankful already for the puritan cd-roms and although I have read not so much as I would like to read, the things I read especially the death-testimonies of James Guthrie and James Renwick were very encouraging - as also the sins of ministers from James Guthrie and the sermons of Robert Rollock were very heart encouraging. Praying that God might draw my heart more and more to be in his Truth. I just wanted to let you know this to encourage you and your colleagues. Could you tell me when it will be possible to buy these new reformation cd's, because the are still forthcoming?" - From the Netherlands

(Mark 9:23).As you know from the information above (in the section "A World-Class Software Developer For World-Class Bible Study Software (On The Puritan Hard Drive)" and elsewhere in the information on this Web page), our primary software engineer has worked at the highest levels of software development with some of the world's largest companies and governments. He was once even courted by Microsoft for a position as a top international representative for their enterprise architecture group (due to his previous experience with IBM). He has exceedingly high standards and this will be great for everyone using the Puritan Hard Drive. I would even go so far as to say that the KnowledgeBase software on the Puritan Hard Drive is now much more powerful and a lot easier to use than a popular program like iTunes (having used both). Around SWRB, we even call the KnowledgeBase software on the Puritan Hard Drive the "iTunes of the Third Reformation."These types of thoughts were further strengthened and confirmed when just a few days before the release of iTunes 9 (some time ago now) our director of software development revealed to us a function on the Puritan Hard Drive KnowledgeBase program which mirrored one of the more useful upgrades on iTunes 9 - though no one working on the Puritan Hard Drive or the KnowledgeBase software had any advance knowledge that iTunes 9 was about to release comparable functionality just days later.Personally, I'm convinced our primary software engineer is every bit as good (by God's grace) as any of the software developers working on iTunes. In fact, from what I've seen he has already done much more in developing the SWRB KnowledgeBase software (on the Puritan Hard Drive), in much less time, and with far fewer resources, than the whole iTunes team has accomplished in building iTunes since it was first "introduced by Apple Inc. on January 9, 2001, at the Macworld Expo in San Francisco" (according to the footnoted content at Wikipedia on "iTunes").Ultimately, the remarkable results in the development of the Puritan Hard Drive and the software it now contains is a splendid testimony to God's grace, goodness and mercy in answering the prayers of many as they relate to this project, His glory, and blessings for the elect.Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not (Jeremiah 33:3).You will know exactly what I mean when you begin to use the KnowledgeBase program on the Puritan Hard Drive for yourself - as it is simply the most spectacularly useful Christian study software I've (Dr. Reg Barrow) ever come across (may our Lord get all the glory)! This is of inestimable value to anyone who is serious about studying the Scripture and wants to know God's will for their life. The world-class software architect who is heading up the development of the custom KnowledgeBase software, embedded database, and file preparation for the Puritan Hard Drive (PHD) has once again (by God's grace) implemented his God-given genius in these things to add another extraordinary feature to the Puritan Hard Drive. Some time ago we announced that we had OCRed all books (in more modern font styles) on the Puritan Hard Drive. Not only have the OCR accuracy results been turning out much better than expected, but laying the OCRed text behind the images of the book pages has led to more incredible features which will greatly benefit everyone who uses the Puritan Hard Drive. Some of the search, cut and paste, indexing, etc., advantages of having OCRed text available have already been mentioned above (email us at add-to-email-list@puritandownloads.com to join our email list to keep up with future Puritan Hard Drive software upgrades and development and new products available for download which have been integrated into the Puritan Hard Drive), so now I would like to focus on what may very well be one of the foremost feature enhancements that has resulted from OCRing the majority of the rare Reformation, Puritan and Covenanter books that are on the Puritan Hard Drive. As you probably know, Adobe's PDF reading programs have some very powerful search features. However, what you may not know (I didn't know this myself), is that it is possible to embed text indices into PDF files. Why is this important? The primary advantage of embedding text indices into PDF files can be seen in how fast searches of PDF documents take place. I was recently testing OCRed/indexed PDF books that I received from our Director of Software Development and I am still shaking my head in shock at how useful it is to have virtually instant access to all the text in the books on the Puritan Hard Drive that contain embedded indices (not to mention that for a number of these books this will be the first time in history that the text in these books is searchable). Now the OCRed books on the Puritan Hard Drive all have embedded text indices which allows them to be searched at lighting fast speeds - even for searches that bring up hundreds of results! What's more, even beyond the blinding search speeds that are now available, all these results can be viewed in context when you use the "Full Reader Search" in Adobe readers. Now, when you are using the Puritan Hard Drive, you can combine all the "big picture" features we have been revealing above, to quickly find, list, amend, manipulate, save, print, etc., large or small resource lists from among the 12,500+ Reformation resources on the Puritan Hard Drive (even adding your own personal notes) - and then take your studies to the next level by getting into the most minute details of the text for every OCRed book on the Puritan Hard Drive and in your personal search results lists.I was literally astonished at how quickly I was able to complete complex research projects, for PDF book files with embedded indices, because almost as soon as my finger came off the mouse, after hitting the "Search" button in Adobe Readers' "Full Reader Search," the search term(s) I was looking for were already listed in context - even when there were hundreds of search results. Thus, not only are many of the rare Reformation and Puritan books on the Puritan Hard Drive searchable for the first time in history, they are searchable at blistering fast speeds! The embedded indices in our OCREd books on the Puritan Hard Drive have now eliminated a great deal of the common time barriers that previously attend the information gathering process of studying. Every instance of OCRed words are now literally at you fingertips in a large number of the best Puritan and Reformed books ever written!D. An Example of the Increased Search Speed and How Much Time This Will Save You (With A Free Sample Book To Download For Testing On Your Own Computer).Embedded indices on the Puritan Hard Drive make for lightning fast searches. This fantastic feature really needs to be seen to be believed, it saves you so much study time, while also greatly aiding you in your ability to mine whatever information you need (the real gold of the Reformed Faith) from the best of the classic and contemporary Christian (Puritan and Reformed) books on the Puritan Hard Drive. Here is one example of how much computer waiting time you can save because of the embedded indices in the OCRed books (in PDF) on the Puritan Hard Drive. If you were to average five "Full Reader Searches" (this is the advanced search you can use when you click the little arrow next to the "Find" box in Adobe readers and you choose "Open Full Reader Search") per day, over 365 days, with the equivalent processing power I was using (4 X 2.5 GHz PPC G5 Mac with 4.5GB of RAM), you would save over one full 24 hour day of computer waiting time - and some of us will be doing much more than five "Full Reader Searches" per day (on average). And it is not just the total time saved, but as everyone who has graduated (over the years) to faster and more powerful computers knows, the increased speeds tend to change the way you use your machine - allowing you to explore and learn more and more because it takes so much less time for various functions, this leading in turn to the doing of many things that you may not have even attempted on slower, less powerful, machines. This is exactly the advantage that embedding indices into the OCRed files of the Puritan Hard Drive provides you with - especially the ability to almost instantly pull large amounts of search results (in the blink of an eye)! You may now test the speed of a new OCRed/indexed PDF for yourself, on your own computer, as well as see the extensive index we have appended to this complimentary sample book, which we are giving to you free of charge! Just click here to download a complimentary copy of the SWRB PDF of William Cunningham's Historical Theology (volume two). This PDF, of Historical Theology (volume two), contains OCRed text (behind the image of the actual book pages), an embedded text index, and an appended OCR-based (page number) index, which we have added, which are all the same items we have added to the majority of the books on the Puritan Hard Drive. One Adobe Acrobat "Full Reader Search" that yielded these stunning results was for the word "Calvin," with none of the boxes checked in the selection below where you enter your search term. The search of the OCRed/indexed PDF file of Cunningham's complete book, Historical Theology (volume two), which is over 600 pages in length, took about two seconds and brought up 525 results. The exact same test on the exact same OCRed book, but without the embedded index took 51 seconds. Thus, this one search, with the embedded index in the PDF, took about 49 seconds less than the same search without the embedded Index in the PDF. If you do the math for this scenario, you will see why you would save over one full 24 hour day of computer waiting time over a year because of the added embedded index (assuming similar searches on similar machines). You should also make sure you have a recent version of Adobe Reader or Pro, as some of the older versions will not take full advantage of the embedded index, for super fast searches. You may go to https://www.abo.com/products/reader/ and click on "Download Adobe Reader" for the latest no cost version of Adobe's PDF Reader. The graphic below illustrates what the search results for this "Calvin" test looked like.In the Adobe Reader results window, like the one below, you can also "mouse over" any individual result to see what page the result is on, or, even better, single click any individual result to instantly jump to that result. The result you jump to will also be highlighted as in the second graphic below.
The graphic below illustrates how search terms are highlighted, in the PDFs on the Puritan Hard Drive, when they are found through your searches.E. Even More Ways In Which OCRing The Books, To Make the Text Searchable On The Puritan Hard Drive, Allows For Additional Features In the Powerful, Custom, Puritan Hard Drive Search/Access/Analyze (SWRB Knowledgebase) Software.Another nice little bonus of having the OCRed text available is that the same search term highlighting shown above occurs whatever type of search you are running, making it very easy to quickly and easily spot your search result on the page. One more exceedingly useful feature that also comes into play because we have OCRed many of the books on the Puritan Hard Drive is the "Read Out Loud" function (which is under "View" among the top menu items - and also available directly through some operating systems). You will now be able to listen to all the OCRed books on the Puritan Hard Drive through Adobe's no cost Reader and/or the paid Pro version.I (Dr. Reg Barrow) often use cordless headphones (or other portable devices) to listen to sermon and audio book MP3s while I eat and at other appropriate times during the day - which is one of the reasons I've been able to listen to somewhere between 20,000 to 30,000 audio sermons/lectures/books since the Lord saved me over 30 years ago (I went through a lot of cassettes in the "old days" but now everything is so much easier with MP3s and the like). I find this to be an excellent way to "redeem the time" (Ephesians 5:16) and would encourage everyone to implement a regular listening plan, using the thousands of MP3s on the Puritan Hard Drive, which takes advantage of the best technologies of the day (iTunes, iPhone, Zune, etc.) if cordless headphones are not a viable option in your situation. The blessings that come from such regular communion with the Lord, through this means of grace (i.e., the hearing of the preached or written Word), are incalculable. Having this massive new library of freshly OCRed versions of the best editions of the best Puritan and Reformed books now available for audio, on the Puritan Hard Drive, is just one more reason to purchase and make use of the Puritan Hard Drive, as there are hundreds of Reformation classics on the Puritan Hard Drive that you may also listen through in their entirety. Also, remember that we have placed over 4,200 MP3 audio sermons/lectures/books at https://www.sermonaudio.com/swrb (and 96 videos, see https://www.sermonaudio.com/go/7018), which you may obtain at no charge, to get your daily personal listening program up and running quickly - and to keep it going indefinitely. However, the Puritan Hard Drive contains over 6,000 additional MP3s (some of the best stuff!) that are not available on our sermonaudio site. Furthermore, all the audio on the Puritan Hard Drive is fully integrated with the powerful, custom search/access KnowledgeBase program, which gives you even more control over what you find on the Puritan Hard Drive to listen to, what type of lists you build, save and/or print, etc. This will be of great assistance as you play your part in the growing worldwide Reformation of our day and in the ongoing generational influence, for the glory of God, that is available to you through the Puritan Hard Drive - and you can do all this learning from the comfort of your own home (even involving your whole family), using your own PC or Mac.The Puritan Hard Drive now provides you with the perfect combination of custom, propriety software tools, with numerous powerful study features, which (to my knowledge) are not available in any other Christian software on the market today. This potent combination of "big picture" and "details" tools on the Puritan Hard Drive will allow you to find more truth in less time - while, at the same time, providing you with over 12,500 of the very best of classic and contemporary Puritan and Reformation resources ever gathered into one offering! And because the Puritan Hard Drive is fully expandable, this unrivalled collection can grow with you for the rest of your life - as we plan, Lord willing, to be offering you many more new, free and low priced, digital resources in the future. These new digital books, MP3s and videos will be published by SWRB as well as by other modern-day Reformed, Creationist and homeschooling publishers who agree to work with us to incorporate their books, MP3s and videos into the PHD/SWRB schemata. In fact, we already have permission to add five of the Psalm singing MP3s, from the full sets which we already offer as digital downloads on this site, to the Puritan Hard Drive, so that you have full samples to listen to from each of the five Psalm singing CDs (also offered as complete MP3 digital downloads on this site) sung and produced by the Northern Presbytery Choir of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Northern Ireland. We believe this is just the first of many joint ventures that will help us make the software and database on the Puritan Hard Drive of even more use to you. Please pray along with us, earnestly and fervently asking the Lord to open many doors for new Reformation resources to be published and added to the Puritan Hard Drive, so that He will be glorified among the nations and so that we can continue to improve our services to you."The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 5:16b).A. The Embedded Database On The Puritan Hard Drive Contains Over 71,000 Book, MP3 And Video Category Designations and Over 15 Million (15,000,000) Records In TotalA large-scale (scalable), updatable (for when you choose to add new resources to your digital collection of Reformed books, MP3s and videos on the Puritan Hard Drive), and extensive, embedded database is also included on the Puritan Hard Drive and works in conjunction with the spectacular SWRB KnowledgeBase study software. This database contains over 71,000 book, MP3 and video categories and over 15 million (15,000,000) total records to accelerate your Christian growth and studies. The Resource Category Signatures (which are proprietary and unique to the Puritan Hard Drive) have about 5,000,000 database records alone - dedicated to providing you, at the click of your mouse, with the closest related Reformation resources to any resource you are presently looking at on the Puritan Hard Drive. These two category related features alone will significantly aid you in your study of the Bible, as it allows you to quickly and easily find all related resources (whether book, MP3 or video), either generally using the 71,000+ category entries, or specifically using the 5,000,000+ records related directly to the Resource Category Signatures (which are exclusive to the Puritan Hard Drive), among all the 12,500+ Reformation resources on the Puritan Hard Drive. In short, the category listings introduce you to all the best Christian resources on given topics and the Resource Category Signatures reveal in detail the most closely related resources, using complex theological connections algorithmically attained by the confluence of the SWRB KnowledgeBase application working in conjunction with the extensive embedded database - and either of these features are available with just the touch of your mouse button! This is just one example of the technological revolution the Puritan Hard Drive brings to your personal studies of the Scriptures - giving you numerous ways to find crucial theological connections, in minutes or even seconds, that would have otherwise taken decades of focused study to uncover (and in most cases would never have been found at all). And there is so much more available to you on the Puritan Hard Drive, as your own personal super (sanctificational) study assistant. There is no telling how much the Lord will bless you through a terrific educational tool like the Puritan Hard Drive, but of this you can be certain, never before has anything like the Puritan Hard Drive existed to take your studies of God and His Word to new levels that you may not even have imagined were possible. But the Puritan Hard Drive is not a static study tool and you will be able to continually add to it as we make more digital resources (books, MP3s, and videos) available in the future, as you add your own personal study notes, and as we provide you with new, no cost, lifetime upgrades to the embedded database and the Puritan Hard Drive KnowledgeBase software!B. Over 10,000,000 Key Words And Phrases Have Also Been Indexed To Further Assist You In Your StudiesHere is another amazing example of how the Puritan Hard Drive can help you to uncover and understand (by God's grace) the deep things of the Lord. Over 10,000,000 key words and phrases have also been indexed on the Puritan Hard Drive and are presented to you, with their corresponding PDF page numbers (which is great for getting to these study items fast), in a number of different and convenient ways, through the SWRB KnowledgeBase software on the Puritan Hard Drive. This is one of the great treasures on the Puritan Hard Drive, as this is the first time in history that many of these classic Puritan and Reformation books have been not only searchable, but also thoroughly indexed and therefore now directly connected to the most important corresponding subjects. This is perfect for helping you to study and learn more truth, faster than ever before. It is also a great aid to sanctification regarding both mortification and vivification. The potential for Christian growth from just this one feature is incalculable; put all the features on the Puritan Hard Drive together and you have something that is truly remarkable - even sublime (all thanks be to the Lord Jesus Christ)!Additionally, as another added bonus, most of the books on the new Puritan Hard Drive have been OCRed, using the best in Optical Character Recognition software available, and are not only searchable, but you may now copy and paste from them too (unlike our previous CD sets, which for the most part contained unsearchable images of book pages from which you could not copy and paste)! This will allow you to quickly pinpoint specific areas of study and drill down into the the most minute details of the half a million or so pages of text on the Puritan Hard Drive. All things considered, the Puritan Hard Drive is largest and most extensive collection of its kind, combined with the most powerful and advanced search and research software ever produced for Christian study - with all the added advantages of a massive database and extensive embedded and appended indices! The Puritan Hard Drive has also been designed to grow with you as you grow in the Lord, and it will keep growing, as we hope you keep growing in the Lord - see below for all the upgrade and update options we have built right into the Puritan Hard Drive, most of which we give you for free! For example, you get free lifetime updates to the Puritan Hard Drive database, along with new and free books, articles, MP3s and videos we will be providing for the Puritan Hard Drive.C. More On The New, Extensive, Unique, Proprietary And Lengthy SWRB Appended Indices That Have Been Added To Most Books On The Puritan Hard DriveAs we have noted elsewhere, there really is no comparison between the Puritan Hard Drive and our previous 62 Reformation and Puritan CDs, as the new Puritan Hard Drive is many orders of magnitude better than our previously released CD sets - kind of like a $1,000,000.00, 12-cylinder, Enzo Ferrari (F60) super car is superior to a horse and buggy as a mode of transportation. In fact, this is a good comparison in terms of how fast you will be able to locate and learn from the 12,500+ Reformation and Puritan books, MP3s and videos on the Puritan Hard Drive, when compared to less productive and less effective methods of study (including our discontinued CDs, as good as they were for their time). There are many examples of the Puritan Hard Drive's superiority to be found - and below we will add to this list. All the extensive programmatically produced indices for the OCRed books will also be appended to the actual PDF (book) files on the Puritan Hard Drive, giving you the ability to quickly and easily dig deep into this treasure trove of classic and contemporary Puritan and Reformed books using these sizable and substantial indices. These unique appended SWRB indices also add another major weapon to your digital study arsenal. These indices provide you with the ability to mine all the gold in these books in a way that is not available in any other copies of these books in existence (whether printed, digital or online). These indices are completely unique and propriety to SWRB's digital book files, so they are not available anywhere outside of the PDF books on the Puritan Hard Drive or in SWRB's digital downloads of the same OCRed books. These one-of-a-kind SWRB appended indices are exceptionally extensive and can be remarkably long (some upwards of 100 pages long), so they will help point to multiple sources of answers to some of toughest biblical questions you can ask.For example, the distinctive and granular appended indices we have added to John Brown of Haddington's four volume set entitled The Self-Interpreting Bible run a total of 273 pages in length, with 3 columns of keyword and page references on every page covering the tens of thousands of alphabetically ordered index entries! In another example, the new, unique, extensive and proprietary, SWRB index appended to Richard Baxter's Christian Directory is 92 pages long - and each page also contains three columns of keywords and exact PDF page references.SWRB's new, custom appended indices also have the advantage of pointing you to the page number in the PDF (book) file, making it much easier and faster for you to do your research - whereas, as you probably already know, the PDF page number in digital books and the actual book page number (from the printed book which was scanned) rarely match, making any index that was already in the book much less useful in the digital setting than the special appended indices we have added. These new SWRB appended indices will make it much easier for you to speedily access any indexed word or phrase in any indexed book by simply using the function in the PDF reader to immediately jump to any page you enter. You can imagine how much this will aid you in your study of God's Word as you may instantly and programmatically jump right to any indexed page reference using the functionality found in your PDF reader! And you will still be able to see the original book page number when you arrive at your destination - if you need that reference for any purpose. You could potentially find and read many texts in less time than it would take to find one book from a shelf, open it to the index, and flip to the printed page of just the first reference. In fact, in most cases, you could probably have already looked over 5-10 (or more) references by the time you would get to the first reference from a printed book you need to find and use from a bookshelf. And when the book is hard to find on the shelf, the benefits you realize through the Puritan Hard Drive is off the charts - as you have a whole library you can carry around in your pocket or purse, software to instantly produce long lists of study titles, and then all the other functionality of the software and database on the Puritan Hard Drive to compare related works, mine the details of these works and many other amazing things related to your studies. Moreover, because of the power of the indexing technology we are using, the SWRB produced indices will often contain many more references than most indices you would find in books that may already have indices (from the original publisher). And for books with no indices this is an even bigger bonus, as you now have a newly added, extensive index for these books for the first time in history! What's more, as with any printed book, you may add and save your own notes - and not only for the books on the Puritan Hard Drive, but also for every MP3 and video. This means you can build your own searchable index through notes you add to resources.Over and above that, and better than any printed book, you may instantaneously search through all your own notes to immediately find exactly what you are looking for - and even build resource lists based on your own notes or what you have researched through other means, including using the extensive and newly added SWRB appended indices.Ferrari (Puritan Hard Drive) versus horse and buggy (printed books) all the way!Redeem the time ...Below is a graphic of a page from an appended index in John Brown of Haddington's The Self-Interpreting Bible (a four volume set), which is on the Puritan Hard Drive. There are also some minor indexing caveats I should mention.First, the index program, though eminently useful and blazingly fast, picks up even partial matches - which means that some of the references in the indices may not be exactly what you are expecting. This usually won't be a problem, as in a case of words like "sin" and "sinful" being indexed together, but I thought you would like to know exactly what you are getting in this feature, in case you run into the occasional anomaly. On the other hand, sometimes this may even be an advantage for serendipitous (or better, providential) advances in sanctification, as you are led to words which also form part of other words, which you may not have otherwise been looking for, which ultimately end up aiding you in your studies of God and His Word, and helping you to press forward in your growth in grace.Second, the indices will only be as good as the OCRed generated text and therefore, on occasion (among the books in more modern type), may not include a word that is actually in the text - and this drawback will be even more evident once we start OCRing the books in the older font styles (the change to more modern font types seems to me to have taken place in the early eighteen hundreds, though I'd be very interested to hear from anyone who knows the exact time when the typography changed to more modern type styles for books written in English). However, from what we have seen so far, we believe that we will be able to accurately provide the great majority of the text in searchable format (behind the images) for all books which were published using more modern fonts - having already seen accuracy results as high as 99.67% in sections of the OCRed text we have sampled. Even when accuracy rates have been lower than 99% they have still been very high - and we believe that it is much preferable to have most of the text accurate and searchable (and all of it in the OCRed books available for copying, cutting and pasting), rather than not having any searchable text available at all (for the image-based PDFs on the Puritan Hard Drive).Third, to make sure the indices include every instance of a correctly OCRed phrase or word, from the master index word list, the indices that will be appended to the books will be in all lower case letters. This certainly does not mean, even in the slightest, a disrespect or dishonor to our Lord when His name appears this way in the indices (as nothing could be further from our thoughts) - it simply allows for greater indexing accuracy.Fourth, the minority books that are still in much older font styles will not be OCRed when the Puritan Hard Drive ships, as the accuracy of even the most advanced OCR programs cannot yet handle this material with any reasonable degree of accuracy without a lot of "teaching" (and this would have delayed the shipping of the Puritan Hard Drive to an unacceptable degree). However, to whatever degree any work remains to be done (in this regard) after the Puritan Hard Drive is shipping, it may be helpful to remember that virtually everything on the Puritan Hard Drive (including the custom KnowledgeBase program, the embedded database, all the resource files, etc.) has been designed so that they can be easily upgraded in the future. This means that as we are able to proof read and otherwise upgrade these PDF book files, by adding text behind the images (making them searchable, copy and "pastable," adding embedded indices, adding appended indices, etc.) in the future, we will be able to provide them to you via Web-based digital downloads which you can add easily add to the Puritan Hard Drive.Of course, all the books on the Puritan Hard Drive which are already in text format did not need to be OCRed, though they will also benefit from the additional indexing features I've described above - including the addition of embedded indices (which allows for searches that are much faster than searches which are done on text without an embedded index) and new, more extensive, appended indices (listing the actual PDF file page to make it fast and easy to jump to any reference in an appended index). We also know that adding the text behind the book images, and therefore making the OCRed PDF book files searchable (and adding copy and paste functionality), is the most requested improvement we have been asked to undertake on the large body of books we have published digitally - and we are very thankful to the Lord that He has ordered everything surrounding the Puritan Hard Drive so that we are now able to fulfill these requests to a great degree.Ultimately, both the embedded and appended indices save you loads of study time, sermon preparation time, Bible study preparation time, family worship preparation time, paper, book or blog writing time, evangelistic emailing or texting time, etc., while allowing you to do much more (and better) research in much less time. For more on how the Puritan Hard Drive can improve the quality of your studies while saving you time, you may want to see the examples provided in the Puritan Hard Drive videos near the top of this page where multiple search results are obtained, in context and linked to their location in the book selected, in less than one second.Puritan Hard Drive, 12,500 Puritan (Owen, Watson, et al), Reformation (Calvin, Knox, Luther, et al), Covenanter (Rutherford, Gillespie), Presbyterian (Hodge), Calvinistic (Edwards), Reformed Baptist (Spurgeon, Bunyan, Pink, et al) Books, MP3s, Videos

12. FUTURE DIGITAL BOOKS (PDFs), MP3s AND VIDEOS WILL BE INTEGRATED WITH THE PURITAN HARD DRIVE AND AVAILABLE AS DIGITAL DOWNLOADSIn the future we also plan (D.V.) to provide you with thousands of new digital books, MP3s and videos (free and at great discounts), as digital downloads through PuritanDownloads.com, which you may add to your collection of Puritan and Reformation resources on your Puritan Hard Drive. In fact, we already have thousands more of the highest quality Puritan and Reformation resources (in all three formats noted above) mapped out for future publication and distribution. Moreover, and Lord willing, these Reformation resources will not only include newly published SWRB books, MP3s and videos (at no cost and at great discounts), but we hope to make arrangements with all the best Reformed, Homeschool and Creationist publishers to begin to add their products to the large offering of new digitally downloadable products that will be integrated with the Puritan Hard Drive (and its powerful and unsurpassed search and research system). All these digital downloads will be offered through this SWRB Web site (https://www.puritandownloads.com/) and will be easily accessible to everyone with a computer and a Web connection .Thus, we ask you to please pray with us that our Lord will open the necessary doors so that you may inexpensively download all your favorite resources (from other Reformed publishers, as well as SWRB) as PDFs, MP3s and as video files through one central location at SWRB and that we will be able to gain permission for you to add all these downloadable products (from other publishers) to your Puritan Hard Drive collection, along with also adding any pertinent information about these resources to the updatable database that comes with the Puritan Hard Drive. We would even like to obtain permission to add the information about newly available resources from other publishers to your upgradeable Puritan Hard Drive database even if you have not purchased the resource itself - so that these resources will show up in your Puritan Hard Drive searches and you will know that they are available to assist in living your life "before the face of God."We already know we will be able you provide you with free downloadable and easy-to-install updates to the database on the Puritan Hard Drive, which will, at intervals, include information about all our latest publications and other updates to any of the fields in the embedded database on the Puritan Hard Drive (some of which may have even been written by you and submitted via the Puritan Hard Drive interface as you comment on resources on the Puritan Hard Drive!) - but it would be another highly useful addition to the Puritan Hard Drive if we are able to offer you even more information about publications from other participating publishers too (who sell digital downloads through SWRB)!All this will allow us to keep your database on the Puritan Hard Drive as up-to-date as possible with all the latest new titles, authors, product descriptions, categories, etc. (we add with each new, no cost, downloadable database file that can easily be integrated with the Puritan Hard Drive) - and also offer you the widest selection of new products from all the best Reformed, Homeschool and Creationist publishers who are open to working with us to promote a full-orbed Third Reformation in our day.All the details related to new products (whether free or for sale as digital downloads from SWRB and other publishers) will then be at your finger tips, including all the new category references, "Category Resource Signatures," indexed words and phrases, etc., related to each new product. Once you install the new no cost database, new resources will then appear when you use the SWRB KnowledgeBase program on the Puritan Hard Drive (via the categories function or through any other custom search you perform) - and you may decide at any time if you would like to download any new resource that appears (after viewing all the related data we provide on the new resource) and add it to your collection on the Puritan Hard Drive. We will also be providing a direct link to the new free or discounted resources through the resource details screen on the Puritan Hard Drive. This will make it a one-click process for you to view any new resource you find on the Puritan Hard Drive and decide whether or not you would like to download it and add it to your personalized library on the Puritan Hard Drive.Periodically, the free updated databases for the Puritan Hard Drive will also include additions we have added to the category cross references, as well as any updates we have added to other pertinent resource data in the Puritan Hard Drive database (including, with your permission, the comments and reviews you send to us).Is that not amazing? The Lord is so good (Psalm 34:8)!Ultimately, your Puritan Hard Drive will be fully upgradeable and fully customizable on an ongoing basis - not to mention the extra discounts (as high as 95% off!) on new digital and downloadable products that will be available to everyone in the "Puritan Hard Drivers Club"! These additional discounts, through the "Puritan Hard Drivers Club," will only be obtainable by registered owners of the Puritan Hard Drive. If you have purchased the Puritan Hard Drive it will also be free for you to join the "Puritan Hard Drivers Club."These additional (large) discounts to new digital downloads and the other features I've noted above are just a few more reasons why the Puritan Hard Drive is the most extensive, most advanced, and most powerful Reformation study tool ever produced - and why we believe the Lord will use all that He has given us in the Puritan Hard Drive to bless your life in ways that you may not even be able to imagine. I say this knowing that this is exactly what has happened to me during the 30+ years I've been a Christian, having observed many formerly unimaginable blessings in my life, which God has graciously granted through the marvelous Puritan and Reformed resources on the Puritan Hard Drive - as the Holy Spirit used the biblical messages of these amazing books, MP3s and videos to encourage, bless, edify, chastise, rebuke, correct, humble, illuminate and further sanctify me.So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17).All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works (2 Timothy 3:16-17).The final look of the program may vary slightly from the screenshots below, as additional features may have been added after the information below was compiled. Updates will be made to the screenshots as discrepancies are noted and as more recent screenshots become available. Ultimately, your worst case scenario is that you will be getting something better and more advanced than what is shown in the screenshots below.Below, we've included some screenshots from the SWRB KnowledgeBase (search, research, interface) application that is an integral part of the SWRB-PHD - allowing you to quickly, easily, and effortlessly locate and access books, MP3s and videos from among the 12,500+ Puritan and Reformation resources on the Puritan Hard Drive.I've had the pleasure of using this program already and I believe it will be responsible for a paradigm shift in the way serious Christians will approach their studies in the future. It is so powerful, and allows such quick access to so many of the best classic and contemporary Reformation resources, that I believe it will be responsible for a revolution in the depth of Reformation studies that will be accomplished for generations to come - all by the grace of God and to His glory!"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist" (Colossians 1:16-17).Also, as you look over the screenshots below, please keep in mind these screenshots only tell a small portion of the complete "SWRB KnowledgeBase software" story. Also, the sizes of windows in the screenshots on this Web page do not necessarily match the size of the windows you will get with the actual program. Furthermore, the size you see on your screen, when you are using the actual Puritan Hard Drive software, can easily be customized to your exact liking.Once you have had a chance to use the SWRB-PHD, with the embedded database and KnowledgeBase application, you will see for yourself there are many additional features that are not illustrated below. The videos near the top of this page hit more of the features in the SWRB KnowledgeBase software, but even they do not come close to exhausting the many features available to you in this amazing Reformation, Puritan and Bible study software. The plan is to ultimately have video tutorials for every feature available through the various screens and commands. The most basic features (which are primarily what we are illustrating below) can easily be mastered by any computer novice and still provide very robust search and access capabilities to all the resources on the hard drive. However, power users will be able to dig deep into the KnowledgeBase's unprecedented features and manipulate the data (for all 12,500+ resources, the various data fields, and even your own custom notes!), using various layers and levels of complexity, for Reformation research and Bible study, which have been historically unavailable ever before - mixing and matching all the data until you have the exact resource or resources desired to fill your needs in seeking the Lord and His truth!Though all the types of individual search screens give you the power to instantly search through over 12,500 titles on the SWRB-PHD (based on the type of search screen you are using), expand your search results by adding to previous search lists and to drill down into search lists already generated to narrow the search result sets, only the "Search by Multiple Fields" allows you to add numerous search variables at one time. This will allow you to specify numerous search parameters at once, and receive results based on all your search criteria at once (including even the number of pages in books or the length of MP3s and videos)! This is a very powerful feature and can be used in an exceedingly large number of ways, as you may enter any combination of search criteria you desire to obtain very specific search results. Moreover, the features on this screen will be made all the more powerful when you consider that we have added over 71,000 category cross references to the 12,500+ Reformation resources on the new SWRB-PHD. "Search by Multiple Fields" will allow you to take the greatest advantage of all these 71,000+ category cross references in conjunction with any other search criterion or criteria that most suits your purposes and selected areas of study. The possibilities here are truly endless.C. Searches can also be executed using any of the seven tabbed search options shown below, by "Multiple Fields," (i.e., all the following fields in one search window) "Author," "Category," "Title," "Description," "Notes" (i.e., your personal notes), and "PDF Set/Resource Title."D. As the screenshot below illustrates, you will be able to search for indexed words or phrases using a built-in "help screen" that will present all indexed words or phrases related to your search term. The most amazing thing about this screen/function is that once you click on an indexed word or phrase, you will be presented with a Search Results screen that will show you every book on the Puritan Hard Drive that contains the indexed word or phrase you choose! This will be phenomenally helpful for getting right to the most specific of indexed words or phrases in every text-based book (which will now be most of the books on the Puritan Hard Drive), across the complete Puritan Hard Drive.Pastors will be able to quickly research whole sermons (or even series of sermons) using this feature, from many of the best Christian books ever published.Seminary students may use this feature to almost instantly locate all the best Puritan and Reformation source material for papers and other course requirements.Fathers and mothers can learn about all the most scriptural methods for raising godly children with just a few mouse clicks. All Christians can easily and quickly find out what the most faithful preachers and commentators throughout history have said about a certain topic or Bible verseAnd the uses go on and on!E. Below, in the "Resource Detail" window on the Puritan Hard Drive, you will have direct access to the index (for any indexed book) directly through a lower tab panel, called "Keyword/Phrases," on this screen. The scrollable list, in this tab, will provide you with all indexed words or phrases for the selected book, how many times the word or phrase shows up in the OCRed text, and the first few results of page references which fit in this screen (to see additional results you may easily open the resource and consult the complete index we will have added to the back of the book). This bonus feature should be very valuable for study purposes in a number of ways, not the least of which will allow you to quickly access how much a given book deals with a specific subject based on how many times a word or phrase appears in the book. This Resource Detail screenshot also gives you a look at all 12 tabs available in this view, the nine buttons available in this view, the placement of the "Help" icon, the information you get on each resource (and there is much more behind each tab and some of the buttons) and the general layout of this screen. In all "Resource Details" screens you now have direct access to your custom/personal saved search Results Sets, which include the resource in the Details screens, through the tab "Results Sets." This will substantially improve your ability to quickly access the saved Search Results sets you build with related resources, enhancing your capability to reach related information that is most important to you based on your own saved Search Results sets. As you add more saved Search Results sets which are pertinent to your own personal studies, this feature will become more and more useful. Moreover, as with everything related to the Puritan Hard Drive, we have done everything we can to not only make it a delight to use, but also allow the Puritan Hard Drive to grow with you as you grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord. The Puritan Hard Drive is truly a personalized Christian study tool like none other, (thanks be to the Lord!) putting all the best classic and contemporary Reformation resources at your fingertips and allowing you to order and manipulate the data to best suit your own personal needs! You will also notice, above the picture of the book in this screen (in the white rectangle), that you will have the ability to easily move forward or backward through numerous Resource Detail screens (when they are available, there is only one available in the screen shot below) without having to navigate away from the Resource Details window itself. This is another substantial improvement to give you quick and easy access to all the related information in any number of Resource Details screens related to any lists or search sets you produce. This is also the feature I mentioned above, which our primary software engineer added to the SWRB KnowledgeBase software on the Puritan Hard Drive just days before the software developers at Apple released a similar feature in their latest version of iTunes (at that time).F. Below you can see that you will have all the same direct access to all the useful index information through the Keyword tab on all "Search Results" screens. The fourteen button options and eight tabs are also illustrated by this graphic. This sample graphic, for simplicity, only shows one search result. However it is possible, in this window, to get tens, hundreds and even thousands of search results (which can be saved, refined, expanded upon, etc., as you like).G. Below is the "Resource Details" screen illustrating what you see under the "Description" tab for the rare 1634 Thomas Norton Translation of John Calvin's Institutes of the Christian Religion.H. You may generate "Saved Search Results Sets" for any criterion or criteria you choose, as well as name these sets by what best suits your study style.M. Below you see a "Saved Search Results Sets" ("Sets" is plural in this case) list, which allows you to see lists associated with an individual, custom "Saved Search Results Set" as it appears in your list of other "Saved Search Results Sets."From this screen you have the following options in the "Actions" column.(+) Adds Saved Search Results Sets to the selected set list (which you name).(-) Removes individual Saved Search Results from a selected set list.(Pencil/Paper icon) Renames any Saved Search Results Set.(X) Removes the complete Saved Search Results Set and all the lists associated with it.You may also search your lists using the "Search" button or go back to viewing all your custom gathered Saved Search Results Sets using the "Display All" button. There is an unlimited number of ways this feature can be used. For example, Pastors could use this feature for large study guides related to sermons or series of sermons they are preparing, seminary students could use it for keeping track of their research for writing various papers and for tracking and producing amazing bibliographies associated with each of the various papers, etc.N. "Saved Search Results Set Lists" (below) is the mirror image of the functionality of the "Saved Search Results Sets" pictured above. It contains all the same functionality noted above (in the "Actions" column) but allows you to look at which of your "Saved Search Results Sets" are contained in your custom "Saved Search Results Sets Lists." If it sounds confusing now don't let that bother you, as once you see the instructional videos and/or are using the KnowledgeBase program on the Puritan Hard Drive for yourself, you will see how simple and powerful all these options really are.As you already know, if you have read certain sections of this page above, we have added over 71,000 categories to the 12,500+ Reformation resources on the Puritan Hard Drive. Once these categories were completed (and you can take full advantage for study purposes of the categories themselves) it led to a major new (and proprietary) bonus for you, on the Puritan Hard Drive, in what our Director of Software Development has named "Category Resource Signatures" (CRS).These Category Resource Signatures were produced through an algorithm written by our primary software engineer, which compared the categories of every resource on the Puritan Hard Drive with the categories of every other resource on the Puritan Hard Drive. These comparisons produced about 5,000,000 records in the embedded database on the Puritan Hard Drive.Of course, such a comparison provides some extremely significant study information, though it would have been all but humanly impossible to accomplish this task (if a lifetime of study) without the use of modern technology and the many years of programming experience residing in our lead software developer. The SWRB Category Resource Signatures now provide you with a valuable new study option that has never been available before - and which is not available anywhere else. Now, for the first time ever, you can see the intricate relationships that exist between all the 12,500+ resources (whether they be books, MP3s or videos) and have access to the most closely related resources through the "Matching RCS" tab (see examples of the "Matching RCS" tabs in various windows, in the screenshots above).I've been working with and studying the resources on the Puritan Hard Drive for well over 25 years and I was astounded at the accuracy of the Category Resource Signatures I reviewed. In fact, relevant connections were being made which I never would have thought of, which surprised me, to say the least - as it has been part of my work, as the President of Still Waters Revival Books, to be making these connections for over a quarter of a century. Mind you, to keep about 5,000,000 pieces of related category records data in mind at once, while comparing every piece of data with every other piece of data (for the matching patterns or "Category Resource Signatures"), as is done for you in the Category Resource Signatures on the Puritan Hard Drive, would be a very tall order - and is probably not humanly possible without the use of the proper algorithm, database and computer. Nevertheless, we can all rejoice and thank the Lord for adding such a sharp tool to the toolbox of Christian scholarship for our and future generations. As I've noted before, I've personally had the privilege of reading and/or listening to somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 books, MP3s and videos in the 30+ years since I've been a Christian and as I've used the "Resource Category Signature" feature I've been constantly amazed at the useful and productive connections it finds - connections between prime study resources which I would not have been aware of otherwise, which are surprisingly compelling, captivating and informative. The good this feature should do, as God blesses it in the studies of His people all over the world (especially leaders in the Christian community), will likely be incalculable - and it is our constant prayer that the Puritan Hard Drive, and all the features we have built into the Puritan Hard Drive, will be a tremendous blessing to you!I don't really even have the words to describe how useful the "Resource Category Signature" feature can be. You really need to see it in action to know how robust this enterprise level search feature can be.However, I do know that everyone from brand new Christians to the most advanced students of God's Word will be able to make use of this feature to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord - and that is major answered prayer for us!Below you will see a graphic demonstrating where the "Category Resource Signature" tab appears on a Resource Detail's screen in the Puritan Hard Drive software. Now, for the first time ever, with just a click of the mouse, you can be exploring the most closely related resources to whatever resource you are already looking at or studying on the Puritan Hard Drive. The SWRB Puritan Hard Drive comes with a 30-day hardware warranty. If the drive fails because of manufacturer defect under normal usage, you may return the drive to us and we will replace the defective unit with a fully-restored comparable drive free of charge. If the drive failure is determined, in our sole discretion, to be caused by user misuse, abuse, accident, neglect, or improper installation, connection, or maintenance, we will provide a comparable fully-restored replacement unit at a cost of $99.95 (this fee includes return shipping to you and is implemented just to cover some of our costs). Furthermore, should you experience problems with the Puritan Hard Drive even after the 30-day warranty period, we will make our best effort to provide you with a fully-restored comparable drive at the lowest possible cost. It has always been our goal at SWRB to make ministry a priority, to be a blessing to you, and to glorify God in the process - and we want you to be able to benefit from the Puritan Hard Drive for the rest of your life.Essentially, once you have purchased the Puritan Hard Drive, we will work with you, even after the warranty period, to make sure that you have a technically pristine working copy of this amazing and unsurpassed Christian study and growth tool until the day you pass from this world to the next (Hebrews 9:27). We will include, on the drive and online, an instructional video to walk the user through the simple and straightforward transfer process. As with all data that resides on storage devices, we highly recommend the use of off-line (Windows Backup, Mac OS X Time Machine, etc.) or online storage services like SOS Online Backup, Carbonite, Mozy, etc., to back up the full contents of the Puritan Hard Drive. Ultimately, the choice of backup methods you employ is your decision and your responsibility. So please don't forget to backup your downloaded digital files and the Puritan Hard Drive.Below are some further guidelines regarding what you can and can't do with the Puritan Hard Drive regarding backup and the copying of files, software, etc., on the Puritan Hard Drive.
You May:
* Make a personal backup on a hard drive or by burning to CD(s), DVD(s) or Blu-ray disk(s).* Transfer to your personal MP3 player, iPhone or related device(s).* Transfer to any computer in your immediate household or to the computer you personally use (which is not public) at work or at your place of study. You May Not:
* Make any copies of commercial files for the purpose of sale or distribution (though files marked "free" may be freely shared).* Alter or use any commercial files for the purpose of sale or distribution.* Post purchased files on the Web.Also, please remember that virtually all the digital files offered by SWRB are protected by international copyright laws. There are many reasons for this, among them are the custom work we have added to the files (like contemporary prefaces and notes, embedded and appended indices, etc.), the copyrights of the original authors from whom we have obtained permission to include their works in our offerings, the custom and propitiatory software and database on the Puritan Hard Drive, and many other reasons. A lot of time, effort and money, over the last 25 years, has gone into providing these files to you at the lowest prices possible (and free) - and in most cases with great, new, additional study features (like embedded and appended indices, Category Resource Signatures, etc., we have added to most of the SWRB published book files). Moreover, each time someone illegally copies and/or shares any of the copyrighted digital files we sell, which would have otherwise been purchased, this limits our ability to find and digitize even more resources for you in the future - the great majority of which we give away for free (see "About Us" and "COMMENTS ON SWRB" for more details on all the free ministry resources that are published and distributed, by God's grace, through SWRB). Also, as we are sure you know, stealing is a violation of the eighth commandment (Exodus 20:15), even if it is done digitally and many other people are doing it (Exodus 23:2).Please help us to help you (and people the world over), even more in the future, by dealing fairly and honestly with the Puritan Hard Drive and the files and technology it contains.Thank you.At SWRB we also have a Puritan Hard Drive missionary and ministry donation program, where for every Puritan Hard Drive donated (i.e. full payment purchase designated for a mission, missionary, pastor, elder, seminary student, poor or persecuted Christian, seminary library or church library), we match your donation with another Puritan Hard Drive which will be donated free of charge (by SWRB) to a mission, missionary, pastor, elder, seminary student, poor or persecuted Christian , seminary library or church library in need.To take part in SWRB's Puritan Hard Drive Missionary and Ministry Donation Program, you may place a Puritan Hard Drive order (or orders) using our online shopping cart and leave special donation instructions in the field "Order Instructions/Comments (Optional)" when this field appears in the check-out process - or by using any of our contact information (see the "Phone Orders/Contact Us" link near the top of all pages on this site) to let us know how you would like to proceed.Thank you for your zeal and selflessness in using this Puritan Hard Drive option to be a blessing to others!Because ministry is our priority, if you are unable to afford the full discounted price for the Puritan Hard Drive, please contact us with an offer stating what you would be able to pay. We are always open to offers, as the material on the Puritan Hard Drive is so spiritually valuable and edifying - and we would like to see the Puritan Hard Drive in the hands of as many serious Christians as possible. We will then give it our best effort to see that you can obtain the Puritan Hard Drive at a price you can afford. This offer is not retroactive and may only be available temporarily, so please contact us with your offer today. This offer is also only made to those who could not otherwise afford the Puritan Hard Drive (including our interest free deferred monthly payment option) - if you are not truly in this state please don't contact us regarding this offer (as God knows your state and will chastise and discipline you accordingly if you attempt to steal from this ministry). The more information you provide as to why you can't afford even the discounted sale price on the Puritan Hard Drive (even using our interest free deferred payment option), and how much you can afford, the more likely it is that we will be able to work something out so that you can obtain the Puritan Hard Drive. As we have mentioned before, though Still Waters Revival Books is set up as a business, our goal is God's glory through this ministry - and being a blessing to you. Thus, if you are truly in need we will do our best, within reason and bounds of Scriptural propriety, to help you.
